DALLAS – August 18, 2020 – abeo, a leader in physician-focused billing and practice management solutions, today announced that Stephen Lorenz has joined its executive leadership team as its first President of Advisory Solutions. Lorenz will oversee the development of abeo’s newly launched Advisory Solutions business line and expand its existing revenue cycle management (RCM) consulting capabilities to increase abeo’s competitive advantage and meet the needs of its customers.
Lorenz brings more than 30 years of healthcare leadership experience to abeo and has a proven track record of success with growing physician-based service lines. Prior to joining abeo, he served as Executive Vice President and interim Chief Operating Officer at PhyMed Healthcare, an anesthesia service provider, where he oversaw business development strategy and implementation. Prior to his time at PhyMed, he co-founded three other businesses; Hospital Resources Management in consulting services, MedHost software for emergency department workflow, and Sterling Healthcare, an emergency department practice management service. In addition, he also served in executive roles at HNI Healthcare and National Emergency Services, supporting business development and leading the growth in new service areas.
“Having worked in a wide variety of roles in the healthcare industry over the years, I was drawn to how closely abeo works with its clients as a true partner to address challenges many providers, particularly those in anesthesiology, face with RCM and practice management,” said Lorenz. “I’m honored to join the team and excited to introduce a new advisory solutions line that will bring even more benefits to abeo’s clients by allowing them to focus on their core competencies while optimizing performance.”
Advisory Solutions is a new offering for abeo’s customers that capitalizes on the company’s in-depth expertise on hospital-based physician specialty RCM, physician employment strategies, compensation evaluation, managed care contracting, and clinical billing, coding and documentation. As part of the service, abeo will assess a practice’s performance in key areas, share tailored recommendations to optimize clinical and operational management, and offer services and technology to enhance the practice.
“Over the years, we’ve built a strong institutional knowledgebase and team of experts. Allowing our clients to tap into our expertise is another way we can help them do their job better and augment the existing services they receive from abeo,” said Mike O’Boyle, CEO of abeo. “We’re thrilled to have Stephen on board to develop and lead this new service as he truly knows the ins and outs of the healthcare industry and understands the challenges facing our clients. We’re confident he’ll bring a valuable perspective to our team and strengthen our competitive advantage.”
