On Friday, April 24th, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) began the process of distributing an additional $20 billion in stimulus funding under the Provider Relief Fund (PRF). Most healthcare entities that provided Medicare services in 2019 received their first HHS payment automatically on Friday, April 10th, however, for this second round of funding, the process requires submission of supporting financial information through an online portal. Through the portal, entities will supply supporting documentation pertaining to the financial impact of COVID-19 on their practices during March and April. Additionally, 2018 tax documentation is required for the application. abeo recommends that physician practices consult with their Accountant that prepares their annual taxes in order to complete this portion of the submission.
HHS published a detailed online tutorial that walks through the data points needed for the completion of the online portal. We noted in a prior post that groups who received HHS funding on Friday, April 10th will need to sign an attestation online. This attestation must be signed before applying for this second round of HHS stimulus funding. For more information, please contact your abeo Client Relation Manager.
